Your Initial Enrollment Period runs seven months — the three months before your birthday month, the month itself, and the three months after. Late enrollment penalties may apply for Part B and Part D if you wait.

Palm Beach County stretches from the coast out toward Lake Okeechobee, and it has a large seasonal population. Plan availability and provider networks are set county by county, so the right plan depends on your ZIP code, where your doctors practice, and how much of the year you are actually here.

I am Jonathan Tirado, a licensed insurance agent. I currently represent 7 Medicare plan organizations, and I can review the plans those organizations offer in your Palm Beach County service area.

JT Solutions does not charge you a fee for an insurance consultation or enrollment assistance. If an enrollment occurs, compensation may be paid by the insurance organizations we represent. Our review is limited to plans offered by those organizations in your service area.

What to check before you choose a plan in Palm Beach County

Seasonal residents need the right plan type

Medicare Advantage plans are built around a service area and a provider network. Emergency and urgent care travel with you anywhere in the United States; routine care outside your service area often does not. If you spend part of the year in another state, say so before you enroll.

Distance to your doctors and hospitals

Palm Beach County is large, and coastal and western communities can be a long drive apart. I check that the primary care doctors, specialists and hospitals you would really use are in the plan's network — not just somewhere in the county.

Prescriptions and pharmacies

Every plan has its own drug list (formulary) and its own pharmacy network. I compare your actual prescriptions against the plans available in your ZIP code, so you see what each one would cost in a normal year and in a bad year.

How a plan review works

  1. We talk. By phone or video. Fifteen minutes is usually enough to know what we are working with.
  2. You give me three things: your ZIP code, your doctors, and your prescription list.
  3. I check networks and formularies against the plans actually available in your county.
  4. You decide. Want to enroll? I handle the paperwork. Want to stay where you are? That is a fine answer too.

Common questions from Palm Beach County clients

What happens to my plan if I spend summers up north?

Emergency and urgent care are covered anywhere in the United States, but routine care outside your plan's service area often is not. Tell me before you enroll so we can look at plan types, such as PPO or national-network plans, that may fit how you live.

Will I be able to keep my doctor in Palm Beach County?

Often yes, but it has to be verified plan by plan. Send me your doctors' names and I will confirm network participation before you decide.

I have both Medicare and Medicaid. What are my options?

You may qualify for a Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP), depending on your Medicare and Medicaid status and plan availability in your service area. Benefits and eligibility vary by plan.

How much does it cost to work with you?

JT Solutions does not charge you a fee for an insurance consultation or enrollment assistance. If an enrollment occurs, compensation may be paid by the insurance organizations we represent.
